Tampere Jazz Happening

Every year, the international programme of Tampere Jazz Happening gathers together top names of international jazz and pioneers of the future. Since 1982, the festival has presented Finnish high-profile musicians as well as world-famous performers both on concert stages and in intimate club settings. The four-day festival is renowned for its warm atmosphere and open-minded approach on modern jazz.In 1982 Tampere Jazz Happening was organized for the first time and ever since it has been a part of the spectrum of cultural events in Tampere every year. Since 1990 the festival has been produced by Tampere Music Festivals which is a part of the Cultural Affairs of the City of Tampere. The Happening brings together the most interesting artists of modern jazz from Finland and from abroad. Every year our carefully compiled programme brings together the top names in modern jazz and the pathfinders of the future for a four-day event that is renowned for its warm atmosphere and broadminded appreciation of contemporary jazz. Visitors should be prepared to experience high profile Finnish and international artists and forceful club gigs until the small hours.
